New Blog

This Christmas I was graced with an awesome new toy. My wife, Regina, bought me an SLR Camera (one of these nice chunky digital cameras). Up to date I think I've taken over a thousand photos. So I've started a Blog where I will be uploading a new photo every week! Let me know what you think.

My new Martin

Hi everyone...married life can keep you quite occupied! My wife and I have just moved into our new home so it's been kind a mad with all the moving. But I've finally settled into my new HOME now. Last w'end I travelled up to Hamburg to purchase the finely crafted Martin guitar. It's a rare custom, one of only 8 in the world. Not only that but the sound is divine! You can expect to hear it in the new album due for next summer!

BAY MUSIC AWARDS 2006

Hi everyone! I got fantastic news yesterday! I have been nominated for BEST SOLO ARTIST in this year's Bay Music Awards (aka BMAs). I really need your help as the award goes to the person with most sms votes, so would you kindly send an sms to 50616 892 with the text "Chris D’Alfonso"

It’s true all sms cost 15c BUT all those voting have a chance to win a Vodafone 3G mobile phone, a one night stay for 2 at Intercontinental Malta and a Lm200 voucher from Top Shop or Dorothy Perkins (and if nothing else you’ll have my unending appreciation!!)

Would you be so kind as to send an email out to your friends so they can vote! For those of you with blogs I would really appreciate it if you could link to this post or to my website www.shipwrecksounds.com

Thanks for your support! See you on the 12th of December at the Eden Arena for the BMAs!!

San Anton School Scouts

Good morning! I hope you're all having a good Sunday. Above is a photo of my school, San Anton. I used to be a student of that school for 12 years! This morning I had a chance to re-visit and dig up some old memories. We had a mass with the San Anton scouts and their parents. We had a great time together. I think you kids were great, and it was especially cool to hear everyone singing! I hope it won't be the last time that events like this take place. You can click on the picture to go to San Anton School's home page. Have a good one!

Caught up in love

Hi everyone, how are you? I've been quite busy with work in hospital. Night shifts can be quite an energy drain! In any case this week my latest sing has been released "Caught up in love". I wrote this song the same day my grandma passed away on September 29th 2004. It's very difficult to lose someone you love. I hope the words in this song will comfort those of you passing through a similar experience right now. You can d/load the song by clicking on the iTunes link on the right.

PS I'm not quite sure how many people are reading this blog daily. If you have a moment just send me an e-mail on blog@shipwrecksounds.com and let me know what you think.

SAFE START

‘Safe Start’ OHS Campaign to focus on Young Workers

Across Europe, 18 to 24-year-olds are at least 50% more likely to be injured in the workplace than more experienced workers. Behind the statistics are harrowing stories, of young people having to live with the consequences of accidents and damaged health for the rest of their lives, or dying when they had so much of their lives ahead of them.

We are helping to raise awareness about this ever present truth. Please join us for the concert.

In the summer time when the weather is fine...

Hi there! It's been too long since my last update! Summer is finally here and with it brings our line up for this season. I will be playing with my band in various localities in Malta. I will be giving details as the dates approach, but in the next few weeks you can find us playing at Malta's well known Beer Festival, followed by the X-FM music festival featuring Bob Sinclar, and in August I'll be in the sister Island of Gozo for their very own music awards entitled Sole. Be sure to come and find us.

Enjoy your summer!

Reason to celebrate

This is a thank you to all those of you who supported me over these years with your prayers and concern. The day has finally arrived, my finals are over and I'm officially a doctor of medicine and surgery. I couldn't have done it without you! I'm taking a short break in Sicily over the next few days and will start working at hospital as from the 10th of July. I (do not) hope to see you there! I'll soon be updating the website with the summer schedule of gigs so keep visiting.

"Hi I'm Bruce Barry"

Bruce Barry has just recently visited Malta. That's me and Bruce enjoying a cold one! Bruce is the creator of Wacky World Studios an amazing place where he brings Bible stories to life from the perspective of a cockroach family. You think I'm joking? The Roach Approach, is an animated series based on roaches telling Bible stories. But these are no ordinary cockroaches - they’re blue, green, pink and purple, with goofy eyes and spirited personalities. You have to visit his website and check out the star character Squiggz! He's also worked with talent such as Natalie Grant. I must admit spending some time with Bruce was excellent. He is an honest man with a big heart for God. Make sure you check out his website, click here.

X-Track

Every week X-FM chooses a couple of tracks to have the honor of becoming an X-track. What that means is the chosen songs are the station's favourites for the week. The song "Now What?" has become an X-track! After its release last week it is quickly becoming a favourite. Let me know what you think about the song by clicking the comment box below. If you want to hear the track please visit myspace and click on the track title.

New Single

Hi everyone, hope you are well! "The Core" has survived for 9 weeks on the local top 40 charts! That's a new record! So...It's soon time to release a new single and I wanted to get your opinion on what I should release next. If you don't have the album you can listen to samples from my website or full mp3s from the options on the menu on the right hand side of this page. Or else you can buy the album and choose one :)

Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as new opportunities are arising! As soon as I have details I will post them. In the meantime take care, and keep close to the source.
